LIVE AT LUNA STAGE – THE DIGITAL CAFÉ TOUR

Montclair, NJ. Luna Stage and The Digital Café Tour Presents: “Live at Luna Stage” – an exciting nine-week live concert series recorded for broadband video, beginning June 17th. In addition to the live concerts, the focus of the series is to reach audiences where they are now congregating – digitally (cell phone, IPod, broadband Internet, satellite radio). This broadband broadcast is the new form of syndicating live music content. The eclectic line-up includes Friday’s Child, Laura Dodd, Carrie Engdahl, The Audibles, Odds Are, Dark Marbles, The Kimballs and Secret Gossip with more performers across multiple genres to be announced.

Sponsored by Audix Microphones, Fender, Tacoma Guitars, DW Pacific Drums, QSC, Allen and Heath, Evans Drum Heads, Furman, and D’Addario Strings, each performance will include a unique addition - a fifteen minute “Broaden Your Band” segment when the audience can interact with the musicians on camera to learn about the artistic process. The DCT series is produced by Tom Walker, directed by Brian Jude of Dragon Rider Productions (Passaic, NJ), with Director of Photography, Craig Schiavone, Video Editor Steve Maio, and recording engineer Rich Haddad, and will be available for broadband and cell phone downloads and Podcasts.

Friday’s Child, which has held a blue chip place in the Indie music world for ten years, will kick off the summer with an all-request evening for regional fans on June 17th at 8pm. Constant touring of clubs and cafe music stores, combined with innovative guerilla Internet marketing techniques, have earned Friday’s Child a large international following. The Digital Cafe Tour is the natural combination of the band’s three major activities: cafe music store/venue touring, Internet Concerts, and The Honeybee Buzz (an Indie music festival created by Tom Walker that has controlled its own stages at CMJ, and several other national music festivals). The band will be signing and giving away copies of their new interactive CD. The album has 11 live audio cuts from last year’s Live at Luna Stage taping, and three bonus cuts from the band’s 2005/2006 studio release, “In a Word,” which was pre-released through Bayside/33rd Street Records in August of 2005 to rave reviews

Tom Walker, a classically trained guitarist and NYU film graduate, started Friday's Child and Honeybee Music in 1996 and began bringing Friday's Child's music directly to live and Internet audiences. Seven years and three albums later, in early 2003, Walker’s relentless efforts on Friday's Child's behalf saw the band voted Best New Rock Band by 10 million on-line listeners with a large, devoted international following. A solo album followed as did the restructuring of the band built on his partnership with multi-instrumentalist Rich Haddad, adding his friend and mentor, Don Regan, on guitar and Haddad’s long time collaborator, Rob Grosso, on drums. The new band gelled quickly and made an explosive debut at the 2005 Florida Music Festival. Walker then partnered with Brian Jude, of Dragon Rider Productions, to produce a DVD called “Live at Luna Stage.” Walker, Jude, and Cliff Castle of Audix Microphones formed The Digital Café Tour (DCT) ™ - an Indie music collective that focuses on digital downloads.
