DIGITAL CAFÉ TOUR'S
Established in 1985, The New Jersey Saxophone Ensemble draws on an array of cultures and musical forms to create a unique and diversified repertoire. Performances include a lively mix of Classical, Jazz, Folk and World Music that balances musical tradition with refreshing innovation. In January 2001, The NJSE released its first successful independent CD recording, New York Suite, which received a three star rating in a review by The Star Ledger. Concert highlights of The NJSE include a sold-out performance at Centenary College sponsored by the Centenary Performing Arts Guild, the 15th Anniversary Celebration Concert of the Bloomfield Youth Band, the Summer Fare: Music for a Summer's Evening concert series at the First United Methodist Church in Westfield, NJ., and the world premiere of two works by composer Patrick Burns, If I Rise on the Wings of Dawn and Ride the Red Horse for the prestigious Ars Vitalis Festival at Kean University.

On Saturday, June 17, 2006, Friday's Child launched the Digital Café Tour's Summer 2006 Live Concert Series at Luna Stage in Montclair with a rare blend of old favorites and first-time performances of new material. Saturday, June 24th was Indie Women Rising, featuring rising Country Blues Pop star, Laura Dodd, and hauntingly confessional singer/songwriter, Carrie Engdahl. Jersey Rocked on July 8 with home-grown rockers The Dark Marbles and a surprise command performance by Friday's Child. July 15th was Indie Women Rising II with Montclair local folk rock hero, Susan Chamberlain and New York's own piano-wielding songstress, Clare Cooper. July 22 was Jazz Night, featuring the critically acclaimed quintet The Mark Tonelli Group and Brazilian jazz artist Monika Oliveira with Portinho Trio.
