THIS
WEEK AT THE
DIGITAL CAFÉ TOUR: August 12, 2006 - 8:30 PM - Strangers and Fakers. Fender sends Stranger's Vibe to Luna to join local favorites, The Fakers, for a great night of music.
The eclectic folk rock foursome that is Stranger's Vibe assembled in Philadelphia in the fall of 2004 when TJ Board (guitar, vocals) and Richie Lopatin (guitar, vocals) found each other through the marvels of modern internet technology, and began a zealous collaboration...working at a feverish pace to share old material, write new material, and complete the band. Tim Biermaas (percussion) and Ethan Gray (bass) had already forged a tight musical relationship while playing in another Philadelphia area band. The two have laid down a rhythm section together for almost three years, and their mutual affinity for the low end is apparent in the pulse they create together. These virtual strangers have come together, embarked on a songwriting journey, and forged a musical relationship that has allowed them to showcase their individual talents while creating an original, collective sound. Former members of North Jersey rock bands Joyseed, Giganticor, and Swamee Parade have joined forces to become The Fakers, adding a fresh new breath of life into the classic rock genre, with a hint of country thrown in for good measure. The Fakers features Brian Bilby on guitar and vocals, drummer John Deventer, Leo McClusky on guitar and vocals, and Ron Strebel, bass and vocals. Each show is hosted by our official DCT emcee, WDHA-FM's Jeff Charone. The Luna Stage crew created a top-notch stage and lighting design, while DCT sponsor QSC has provided a state-of-the-art sound system. Don't miss a show!
